International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

I have one other Wyandotte. Her egg does not have speckles.
I had 2 others in the past with no speckles.

I have a rooster that is blue laced silver. He does not like my husband at all. He pecked me hard a couple times. He is now in a bachelor's pad. I hope to be able to breed him in spring. I want more speckles and would like to get a roo with a nicer attitude.

Is it a certain colour that lays the speckled ones? I know that probably won’t apply in general but maybe in your birds specifically a certain line carries it.

The hens are black laced silver. They come from a local lady that breed blue, black, splash all laced silver along with some other breeds.

I've lost Raven tonight. Didn't come back into the barn at dusk. Looked everywhere, no feathers anywhere. No sign of her. Hoping she comes back by daybreak.

Super wierd.... I was working on the Marans coop all day, in the barn, expanding it. Didn't hear anything from any of the birds that would trigger an alarm, and haven't seen hawks in over a week.
Only other thing I can think of is she shoved herself into a cubby hole in the barn to lay close to roost time, but I left the light on way past dark looking for her.
I left all 3 runs open tonight just in case. This sucks.....

She’s so sweet, soon I’ll have blue wheaten marans in March!

I’ll also attach my rooster and my upcoming babies. I’m pretty sure there are roosters and one is a hen

My two are 12 weeks my others are 7 weeks old.

Not yet, no. She's one of the 3 pullets that just started laying in December.
