Please do...👍

I started a notebook to write out all the screenshots I have thru out the thread but it's not organized and took too much time. I need to print them out.

As far as my hatches they are just saved on my phone but it's going to cause chaos once I start forgetting.

I really need to get organized better and also find a photo host site to get all the pics off my phone.
Here’s my book, still only at the beginning. I hope this gives you inspiration to lay out your own. I note down each hatch, some notes, and give each chicken a page (or part of a page if they are culls). I then give the birds I keep a scoring and progeny page to note all their offspring and little notes where I judge their quality.
I am going to attach photos soon. Finally at the back I have an index of each bird, their number and page number.

I might not be able to keep track of each chook’s dam when I use a clan breeding strategy, but I’m going to try. I think this way you can more easily see if it’s particular hens producing your best birds, rather than giving the rooster all the credit.

This is extremely helpful and I definitely would like to add pics of each bird with egg pics also.

Getting each bird assessment and noted along with hatches is a must do, and any help is greatly appreciated. 👍

I do have a tendency to favor the boys 🤣 maybe because I've only had the 3 BCMs. With 2 more now and possibly more with the week olds I've got hope there, finally.

shucks…that’s what I was worried about. This one is my favorite 🥺. We’re limited on how many roosters we can have, this would be my first one. Was hoping to just have all girls.
Hoping maybe my neighbor might change his mind, if he’s stays a sweet boy. 🤞 (Someone near us has a rooster, we hear him…but I can understand the difference in having one RIGHT next door.)
Maybe you can smooth things over with your neighbor with a dozen fresh eggs 🤔 :)

Do you have a book where you write down all your hatches, marans, breeding programmes etc?

I’ve started doing this an I think it’s really helpful. It allows you to keep track of who’s related to who as your flock expands, and therefore understand which pairing has produced the best outcomes.

I can share some picture of mine if you want.
I have been using the Flockstar app for a few years and love it, they just recently did an upgrade and now have a hatching section. I keep track of all my expenses, sales, eggs, everything!
