It all depends if you're using still air or forced air incubator. If it's forced air that temp is just right, as long as whatever your using for temp is accurate!

forced air. I am not sure if the thermometer is accurate but when I put my hand inside it feels warm. as the human's body temperature is around 37 c I think it is about what it reads. but no sign of chicks, day 22.

here some up date about the chicks .some of them are big now .out of they brooder . they are happy running around . happy about them .just the heat is bothering me and them that all .42 D C today and tomorrow . chooks man

day 23 and no chicks. I think I heard some chirping but no eggs moving or pipping. I think I am getting crazy, lol.

when should I unplug the bator?

I've had them hatch on day 23.. don't unplug!

I unplugged the bator. about an hour lator I went to throw the eggs and I heard chirping again. I plugged it again and put a heat lamp to warm it quickly and put more water. then I saw a little crack. I called a friend who told me to help the chick so I made a hole around it's beak. it is in the bator now chirping from time to time but I don't see it is trying to crack the shell. more work for me and I am scared to death!

btw, I hope it is Nn (Nn/araucana cross)! the chirping is a happy one, not complaining one so I have a hope. and with low temperature I do believe that only a girl could make it. any opinion?

sorry to hear about your hatch .
if you are hearing a normal chirping than must be chick there went to come out .
lower temperature does that even up to day 25 ( did not happen to me but happen to a friend of mine )

other thing is the humidity if it is too high .the chick inside the egg grow too big .so can t turn around ,but in this case you ll see a little hole .

look my dear friend many thing can go wrong with the chooks ,bator and a little chicks ,
what we do ,we have to start again .

your luck is not that great with hatching eggs .
will change like mine from no chicks to over 100 and 100 . DON t GIVE UP PLEASE

yeah there some gorgeous looking pullets .great type ,long back well feathered shanks ,early feathering ,nice mass to . what i love about them most is the color of they eyes and shape of they comb .

lost few last few days with the extreme heat you had .
today is cooler .I think we are going to see the over 40 DC any more .

getting there slowly but surely .

last week of breeding for me .
I need to let them rest and enjoy tell the winter time . they ll have a peaceful time to end up they laying cycle for the year and let them molt and restore they bodies .they done me proud .

I had to help it get out. hard shell, wrapped in membrane, low temperature and the egg was laid on 31/12!

I am positive it is a girl!

if the shall was too hard and the chick too small ,than the humidity was lower .remember that what happen to me with the cabinet incubator. .

this little one you manage to safe is going to call for friend .you ll see more chicks this year I m positive .
