I received this week the Marans-club de France Magazine N72 .
they modified few things around .
now the Black tail buff is divided into 2 variety .lighter buff like NH and a Red one like RIR. lucky me I have them both .so they make a life easier for me to breed the 2 separately
they agree to promote the silver Wheaten . well happy with that
they
Black copper rooster should have a small amount of flame on his hackle . bordered by copper not cutting through the feather tell the end .
Golden cuckoo rooster is accepted to have a orange /gold hackle with barring and flame

nice photos this time .

good news. my marco -bc has his hackle as described.

I love silver wheaten but there is no chance I can find them here. what varieties do I need to create them?

great that your Marco s hackle fit the FMC description . one less thing to worry about .

No way you are going to find a Silver Wheaten anywhere .only a hand full of breeder are developing them and I m fortunate to be one of them .
I m on the F1 and F2 progeny need to do couple of back crossing to the Wheaten and I ll have strain stable and pure .Silver Wheaten marans.

take years to develop this gorgeous variety .and there is many way to achieve it .

Hello, I have a question regarding my 3 months old cockerel. His name is Godfather. His dad was part black copper maran and we don't know what his mom was. We got him when he was about a month old. He's our first roo. Okay, so my question is. When will he get his mature hackle feathers? I've been looking at black copper roos hackles vs cockerel hackles. I don't know when he will be fully grown.
