I dont like to breed mean roosters, but sometimes will make an exception. Chooks man is more eperienced with marans and has a better eye. I am still fine tuning my "eye".But if Chester ends up mean, that is definitely a mark in the con column in my opinion.

I've had them in with the big girls and roo since 6 weeks when mama weened them. I wouldn't say he is mean. Just seems protective of the rest of the flock. These three babies haven't been handled - I let broody do all the work. My Cochin roo wasn't handled either. Just had to learn to trust me. I think I just need to spend more time in there.
