International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

Made a faux-tisserie chicken with a recipe I found online. It turned out great and very tender! I put the carcass and bones back in after we ate most of the meat off it, with some celery, carrots, an onion, a couple cloves of garlic, and some water and making some homemade chicken stock now.

Can't wait to cook our homegrown roosters in there.. soup de Marans. I have to say, I love my Instant Pot! :)

Thank goodness..... everything went back to normal. I did notice that I have an amazing looking cockerel in this group. Fingers crossed he doesn't fall apart.

We had quite a bit of riff raff yesterday as well. A friend of ours brought up a Game rooster to show us and we set him in a temporary folding pen. Griffin and one of the oldest cockerels still free ranging starting showing their hackles and bumping with the rooster through the pen. It was pretty harmless but we shooed the Marans roosters away from the Gamecock. After we had stepped away the cock had pushed out of the pen and got into a scuffle with Griffin. They didn't fight long and the game ran Griffin off so he didn't get hurt, only his pride. lol

Glad all is well with your cockerels! Boys will be boys!
