that is a serious breeders method . 1/1 ratio less eggs to deal with . plus the rooster get you faster than the hens to your breeding goal .

Rooster pass his genetic make up to all his progeny .

Hen only to 50% 0f her progeny.

best marans breeding age is 9 month for hen s or when her eggs reach 65g

this method will be easier for you and will yield great result 3 X 3 = will give you 9 combination to chose from .

you don t need a complex penning system like me .just one pen with 3 hens plus 1 rooster at one time for one month each. hatch the eggs collected from 3 weeks only ( 48 eggs total - 16 eggs /hen ) than SWAP the ROOSTER

do a same thing with Roo 2 than roo3. that will give you around 80/100 chicks to chose from .

Easy .

This is Sheldon. He is the same age as Will. About 10 weeks ( June 1st hatch date) He is the one I feel is the best of the two rooster I have. The other one tail is not as nice.
