@RedBanks in which part of usa do you live? I can see green in your pics. my chickens made their run a dessert. not to mention the heat that killed my vegetable garden. I think I will not try to grow anything next summer.

you have a good stock RedBank to work with to perfect them and recreate few different varieties from them.

with a good breeding plan and a good eyes on selecting the chooks need to move forward to breed from.

here hoe does work . chooks + space + time + multiply + raising + selection = better progeny than they parents stock .

one generation at time .

I live in Florida. I no longer have a garden. I can't use my porch (they love the porch). The chickens can't eat EVERYTHING though. I have 20 acres for them to roam, They stay in a very small section of that.

It would have been nice to have some of those birds but..... I have nice BCMs. I have BCM friends on the other side of the world and I am learning. I think I am way ahead of the game.

This cock is only 18-19 weeks old, he's starting to gain some mass to him. I myself am only 17, so I am brand new to breeding to the SOP, I would love to work with Marans and Ameraucanas for the rest of my life. Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you all for the support .it is nice to be able to help each other and enjoying each other advice .hope ours friend ship and the love of the marans chooks will last for eternity .

look t the way I see it ; I have a lot good friends in France willing to help me by them willing to send me marans fertile eggs but I can receive them.

So it is better for the breeds that I have to find home to this rare eggs. So far Chickengr is going to be the First lucky one to receive some of them BCM and SCM 30 years old pure strain .

Monique is inviting you all to joint her Forum ( Marans Aspiran ) she organized a translator . I do some help too .So go to Marans Aspiran and present your selves ( votre presentation ).

It rained this afternoon and we got a reprieve from the heat. I think the chickens enjoyed the cooler temperatures as much as I did. I took some pictures of the girls. My older pullets.
