International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

I don't think anything is easier to fix that leg feathering. I put leg feathering on Bielfelder/Marans cross. They have nicer feathering than the Marans.

This is hard. I like Shy Guy and Copper but you write that Blades picture is old. I like them all but maybe if we had pics like the ones described in Post 1407 on this thread we could see something we don't see from these side shots.

My order:

Copper
Shy Guy
Blade

Thanks!
I'll have to get some more pics and post. Blade's first picture was from last week, so not that quite that old. To me, at least, the three seem to have rather similar features with only slight differences. If I weren't so concerned about not being an annoying neighbor, I'd have a bachelor pen to give me more time to decide. At least I was able to rehome one of my older Lav Am cockerels yesterday!

I was going to ask if you could give them more time.

They're really starting to make noise now, and I hate to be *that* neighbor, you know? Heck, I already am with my horses neighing and boys crowing at 4:30 in the morning, but even one less voice helps cut down on the volume.

You own your property, you pay taxes. As long as you're property is zoned for livestock who cares about the neighbors.

I'm sure my neighbors REALLY love me! We have well over 100 roosters. Well over.

I agree with Kayla. I don't understand people that want to live in the "country" and then complain about noise, flies, gnats.... etc. I try to keep a live and let live attitude and so do my neighbors. They have barking dogs, never ending machinery noises (saws, tractors, etc), guns and livestock. I figure we are even. If they complain offer them some eggs..... LOL.

Build then a coop with a straw bell to buffer they noise . doesn t have to be big too 4 feet by 4 feet by 4 feet . does work well .so you can kkep them for longer . my friend from Sydney she take a good looking rooster from me ( she have 5 now) as ornamental chooks in her garden not breeding .each of them has 1 cubic metre coop build from straw bell . no noises at night time chooks man

Haha, nice! That's a lot of roosters! I mean, I guess my crowing boys can't be much more annoying than the baying hunting dogs and gunshots I hear all night long (I'm a night owl). It's just there's a small church just to my left where a nice but much older minister and his wife live. They've also got health problems, and I feel like if I annoy them too much, I'm going to hell or something, lol.

I picked them in the same order because from the picture Blade did not have the same mass. Copper and Shy Guy have nice rectangular big bodies. I do remember in the last pictures Winterhorses posted more from the front Blade seemed heftier.

My thoughts exactly. They can pack up and move to the city if they don't like your crowing roosters. Don't miss out on what could be a keeper by culling too early. Give those boys a chance to grow out.

Free eggs is a good idea!
