International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

this new version is frustrating. I cannot upload pics. it says: click upload a file and there is no upload a file to click! I sometimes cannot log in either. it says that the site is off line.

Are you using the BYC App? If so, it is very buggy and I can't upload photos to the App either. I use the website via a browser (I.e., google, safari, etc.).

I really like your chicks especially the pullet in pic #2. She has very nice hatch down color, well chunky and good type. I think you well be well pleased with her as she grows out.

Take Care,
Keith

thanks. I still don't know how many pullets there are. it seems that each one has a different comb. I am happy with their hatch down too. I was afraid that their parents have parasitic white feathers but it seem they don't. especially mario, after his molt he has no trace of white.

the second batch chicks still have small combs. I hope they all (5) are girls. they will be 2 weeks old tomorrow. they have nice hatch down too. only 1 has a bit of white feathers but not too many. I will try to take some pics later. it is not easy as I made a cage of an old sofa bed with chicken wire on top. I tried to take a pic trough the wire but you cannot see much. when I open the wire they hide behind broody.

as for the new byc version - I need tp learn how to use it.

She has a lump on her beak from rubbing back and forth against the wire cage. She was outside of the cage and I had younger chicks inside. I tried putting her in with them but she was a naughty girl. I don't know if I should lance it and put something on it.

Here are the three blue Birchen Marans cockerels. One is big and very masculine, but his color is not particularly great. The littlest, skinniest cockerel has really good color potential. The guy in between is in between on everything. Size, color, shape.

they are gorgeous .
I like the First and the second .
first one .great type ,every thing is correct about him except the color .he is dark one ,notice his shoulder are pure black .they should be silver .,you are not going to see much color on him .he is a keeper for sure .his shanks need more feathering

Second ,is well put together ,nice silvery hackle start to show .nice tail and back . I like him a lot

the last one is good but have extra feathers on his middle toes .

all three cockerels have a gorgeous head ,comb and eyes .
