just sharing some of my year old birds. A son of Jack, grandson of Jake, I'm calling him Jackson. He's my Reeves line birchen Marans. He's 12 months old now. The splash is a greenfire line, and she's 16 months old silver splash (for blue birchen breeding)
Jackson has a hilarious squeaky crow!

Just had to share this with the housemates as we were lamenting Chester's scream. They said your boy sounds like a bike horn lol. But I love it.

So... I’ve decided to try to incubate an egg in my bra. Yeah, super wired and not likely to hatch but... I still want to try.

I’m day 4/5 and this is me egg. It’s a Marans egg.

Are we developing in there? I just can’t tell...

You actually have an egg under your boob?

Edit: for five days? (Cuz yes I've put eggs in my bra before swapping out with the broody)

And second edit : no I don't think so.

Really? To clarify I was swapping unviable eggs with likely viable on a broody who wouldn't break. I went out to the broody coop with my boyfriends ma half cocked on gin'n tonics and at the last minute said - hey these aren't warm. So,,, we decided boobs are warm and we would still have a free hand for our drinks.

But hatching in your boob? Like how do you measure humidity n stuff? And when it hatches...

I seem to remember that there was a thread, a few years ago, where a couple BYC members did this together and I'm pretty sure at least 1 of them was successful. I'll have to see if I can find it but I believe the title was Booby Bator lol

ETA the bra can be a very helpful thing sometimes. We had a power outage for like 5 hours one day when I just had a few quail hatch. The 3 of them spent that 5 hours in my bra staying warm. The girls are all doing good now and were imprinted on me

So what have you guys found works best and easiest way to water all the pens?
