International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

Pugs are such hams.. :love

I figured they were too young to say much about. Just trying to join in the convo a little. I’ll just hang out and learn.
Thanks everybody. :bow
Your Welcome, Notice I worked a picture with a chicken in the post! Lol My pug isn't as well behaved as yours. If she gets in the pen. Chickens are hitting all four corners.

I think she and my boy Dudley could make some beautiful babies. :D
Well, if he hadn’t been snipped :p

He used to like to chase very small chicks, but he got past it. He even does well with the baby ducklings running around. He just runs straight thru them, doesn’t pay much attention to them. A big Brahma roo cured him of getting too close with bad thoughts in his mind. I think both dogs just enjoy the chicken poop. :sick

My English bulldog mix, Sparkles, is a chicken poop fanatic too! She's never minded the chickens in any way shape or form. She just sort of blended in with the flock and cleans up the "treats" they leave for her :sick She's the one in the front. Dreamy, the siberian husky passed away a little over a year ago. She was never to be trusted around ANY small animals (except the cat. For some reason, she loved him)

Duchess and Dudley. We are wanting to breed her one time. One pup for us, one for my in-laws and one for our friends. Our friends are how we got our Daisy black pug. She was stolen and we put a $500 reward out for her and never got her back. She was 7 years old when she went missing. Like losing a family member.

Oh the rabbit poop! We can't let our per rabbit run around without putting Sparkles in the kitchen. She will run up behind the rabbit and nudge him hard, repetitively. I think she believes that he works like a pez dispenser!

We have a lot of wild rabbits. Dudley chases them out of the yard. I’m not sure why the grass within the fence tastes better than the grass outside, but they test their luck a lot. One day he is going to catch one. :gig

Took this from my kitchen window. The ducks will nudge the rabbits if they get too close.

Broodies, broodies, broodies! Most of my Marans have quit laying because they're all going broody! No sooner than I get 2-3 broken up, there are 2-3 more broody!
:barnie
I had 4 to 5 broody for a couple month's straight. I would put them in a different pen for a few days to break them up. They would just be replaced by more going broody or they would start back up. I feel your frustration!
