Easter weekend down here and Sydney Easter Show .
my friend Philip who I bought my chooks from has win almost all the marans category with his Silver Splash rooster and a Wheaten hens .
I m well happy for him .dedicated too much time too his marans chooks .
we have been working together in many marans project . the White project is one of them ,

Happy Easter Everyone! I put my eggs into lockdown yesterday. Maybe some Easter Sunday early hatchers. They are due monday. I am not sure how many actually went into lockdown but about 40 ish. I put in some Birchen from the two different pens, Whites and Blue Copper. I will post pictures when they hatch.

here a photo of my Crying Wolf .he is a young rooster now .ready to breed from next month .

Blue copper cockerel .he is the a better coloured of the 3 cockerel I have. 2 of them are washed up blue with a lighter copper.

he is a little taller on his feet ,plus he has a higher tail .let see how is going to turn up .
I prefer a BC cockerel better .

Blue copper pullet . I only have 2 . one of them is over coloured .this one is gorgeous ,I like her a lot .

Red Pyle pullet .she lay dark eggs #6 well happy about her .she has many good thing going for her .well pleased .
she is my breeder of chose she ll be the foundation hen of my RP line .

she is big and heavy pullet. will be paired to a Silver/golden cuckoo rooster .dark egg gene carrier . Spotted Hypo
all her son s will be Dominant white half of them silver/gold and the other half pure golden . what I m looking for .I only need one correct son from her so I can work with them to build a line .
the comb large size is going to be my challenge in this line ,because both hen and rooster have a large comb .

dominant white marans .they are all laying now ,#4 and #5 not as dark as I like .that will give me some thing to do ,they have a correct body type ,tail and combs ,so no much to do in this area .egg colour will be my goal plus cleaning out the white plumage .

a good thing about them is I have 14 pullets to select from ,I only need 3 best ones .
the best one are going to be mated to they half brother Bahema. they share a same sire.
