I love those 4 splash copper chicks .
it is the easiest and a beautiful variety to breed . can t wait to see them grown up .love the splash marans .

These 4 are white chicks. I have 2 splash Copper chicks though.

those 3 have a correct hatch down colour .minimum white .black faces.
keep your eye on them .I know they sire has some copper on his head ,but his chicks are the better looking one .

With more pictures of him and the other rooster. Do you feel the same about this rooster? I will try and do what you think is best. Just remember I have a husband that limits my hatching so I will not be able to hatch more than 2 to 3 hatches a year. It will be a much slower process. He wants me to get rid of my Marans completely but no way. I won't go for that at all! They are my favorite!

I do like his chicks hatch down better than a clean silver one ..
if you are limited with a space and time .than work with just a silver black this year .leave a Blue copper tel the next year .
you have nice Birchen chooks .I think it is worth it to work with them and breed them true .
Blue copper are going to cause you a lot problem .because there no black on them .

I couldn't get good pictures. They where all in the house. One is trying to set. I have one rooster and 4 hens.

Which quad? The one with the three Blue Birchen hens or the one with the two Birchen and one Blue Birchen?

those one.

if was me I only work with this 3 hen and the 2 rooster .
I ll forget about the other 3 blue birchen hens . you are doing too much .not need to hatch from all your hens .
only work with a best .and you have some stunning hens ,make it simple for your self .

focus on those 3 hens and you ll end up with a faultless and stunning Birchen marans Black and Blue . you are almost there .

hatch many chicks from a correct hen better than hatching few chicks from all your hens .
I do no breed all my hens other wise I ll never make . I only work with the best one . or the one they posses better traits .

Most of their eggs are fairly dark. I will try and get pictures later of them and eggs. It is hard to get accurate picture of egg shade my camera lightens them so much.

would blue copper roo mated to a black copper hen give good results too?

yes does work but it is very very rare to find a correctly coloured Blue copper rooster with a correct copper not washed up .
Blue copper hens are easier to fix they pattern and hackles than a Blue copper rooster .plus they look good too .

I will wait to hatch from my Blue Copper Pullets. I am getting a BC Cockerel from a pair with much better color to fix my halo problem.
