International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

Hello everyone! Sorry to be MIA for so long. My life has been upside down and crazy lately. I have missed everyone! I will post some pictures as soon as I am able. I am taking an English Literature class right now that is killing me. I thought I would be ready to graduate by now, but they sprung this class on me at the last minute when I applied for graduation.

My best cockerel I raised this year I'm pretty certain has split wing. That is how my luck runs. Luckily I have many cockerels to cull through.

You have been missed by all! I hope it gets less hectic for you. We would love to see pictures. Sorry about the split wing. He was beautiful.

Thank you! I've missed you all terribly.

He really is beautiful! It seems like such a shameful waste for such a flaw to be on such a pretty bird. I work the next 3 nights but I will try to photograph the wings when I am able. I would like for Chooksman to confirm the defect. :hit

wood shaving . a little expenssive but does a great job . I ll use the bedding for my compost after I move the chooks out .

I buy the wood pellets and it don't take long and they turn it to sawdust. I worry because they eat the small pieces. It can block them up and die. Pheasants are bad about that. I use straw now for Pheasants. How often to you change out the shavings?
