I buy the wood pellets and it don't take long and they turn it to sawdust. I worry because they eat the small pieces. It can block them up and die. Pheasants are bad about that. I use straw now for Pheasants. How often to you change out the shavings?
they turn it to sawdust .that why I like it .
I m in a hot dry country the wood shaving they performe better.
I do not chabge the bedding ,I use deep brdding method .I add fresh wood shaving when needed .deppend age ,the group number etc.........
when I move aeach group to they new place ,than I clean the place and change a new bedding if i m going use a place again .
for the adult i use deep bedding method too .I top up and when I finish breeding { end of this month November} I group all the hens together in a new place with a new bedding and I empty all the old hen houses and clean them .
