@kfelton0002

what stunning body type .
long
wide
thick .
elegant

I thought Malika and perfect where the best you have bred .I was wrong .
this baby girls is #1 type /conformation
she has a same body to my best breeder hens this season Dalakhania and Unicorn .

easy to tell her mama ,has to be a Blue hen .
I more happy for you now .I know your flock have a different type of W chromozome .not just Queen s and her girls .

chooks man

I'm glad you like her. She didnt look like much up until recently, and I didnt expect her to turn out well but she is starting to blossom. Hopefully her tail dont get sky high. She likes to stay away from the main flock and is a loner. She is the only decent looking blue copper Ive raised this year. There are a couple youngsters free ranging still so the jury is out on them.

mass I can not tell .you have to weight her , 2.7Kg min .
but I can tell you I do not see any cushioning . sleek back to the tail .

look at her from the rear ,sleek as they can get ,

I am hoping to breed toward the gentle slope of the back downward from neck to tail. Its a personal pet peeve of mine when the back slopes upward toward the tail like an orphington. It isnt a major thing, just something I would like to improve upon.

Perfect is definitely on the small side. I don't think she will reach 2.7 kg but I will weigh her and see as soon as I can.

Thank you Chooksman! I just wanted to make sure. I guess I always worry as they get older something is going to pop out and be bad. I will probably worry till he is st least 1 1/2. His dad's color changed so much after a year. I am really hoping no white pops out on any of them. I guess time will tell.

They do change after that first molt but I dont think white is something that HM deals with much in his birds which is great. Blaze is a very handsome bird. :)

I see a lot of white foot feathers in HM birds. I have at least one Hen left out there with white foot feathers. I seen a lot of over colored and mossy chicks also. I am hoping they where from a different hen then Blaze and Nimbus came from. I always worry about the recessive stuff popping out. I guess we will see next year what they produce. I can't wait.

Well the recessive genes are there, I've already encountered a few of them in just one generation. You just have to look over your birds with a fine toothed comb and cull birds that show undesirable traits. White foot feathers are not really too big of a deal. Bev Davis claims they can be caused from damage to the feather follicle as the bird scratches in the dirt and stuff. If you don't see white anywhere else, especially after the first molt then you're good.
