Some of the older hens just finished moulting.

The one hen in the middle facing the camera is the mother of the rooster and will be 7 years old coming this March.

What about these tails? The ones on the right are leaned over getting a drink? Sorry I was gonna get more pictures but someone showed up at the house. I love this line, a lot of hackle copper, smaller comb, I just want to get them alittle bigger in size.

My kids are to big to use the pool so now the chooks got it to dust bath in.

Haha, Bluetooth finally gave in. Here are some pictures taken this afternoon (it is rainy here in Germany):

His left wattle and comb were ripped in a fight last year but healed nicely. In this fight (predator) he also lost a peace of flesh on his lower back.

I wish I can take the credit but no I started with Marans last year. These are pullets from eggs I hatched. I now have two lines from different breeders that should compliment each other very nice. Excited to see this years chicks.

And where can I see pictures of your other line? I am curious to see if they too have these rather dark feet and shanks.
