International Black Copper Marans Thread - Breeding to the SOP

There ya go... I'm gonna re-home my Prince so yours will be the only one here anyhoo.... 👍
Not what I think is right for my breeder plan. He'll be a year in July and has the high/squirrel tail with white just like King. I want to get better bcm stock eventually and also Black Silvers. Just don't think he's any improvement over King and also have the 3 more babies of King's yet to see if any cockerels there show up.
If I post pics of King and Prince will you guys give me all the good/bads? Also I'm assuming he inherited King's tail and white but I'm not seeing any white in his sisters? I don't have any recents of King but his tail is horrible and he's loaded with white.

I just a call from a friend of mine he own a farm and he is interested in renting it to me or working with me in developing it . The place is about 4 hours drive south of my place . Thinking about taking the offer and relocate Troy s in it so the 2 farms will be close to each other not 10 hours driving like now so I can go and see the chooks there . Very good place up the mountain with a farming community and great farmer market .
What you guys think
Chooks nan
I think that's a great plan.

Prince.... He'll be a year old next month.

4 hrs is a lot closer and if it has everything you need that's a plus. Best of luck with the move.
Thank you ..by Australian standard 4 hour driving is nothing just like going around a corner haha.
Does have every thing I need it is a working farm . Just need to build few chooks pens and fix few dances and it is ready to go . Has a river running along side a north side so a lot water for irrigation

Shame about that king tail . Love his colour and his good feet’s.
Is some one taking him for breeding Marans or some thing else

I haven't posted him yet. Just mulling it over right now but I think it's best to re-home him. Am I correct in assuming if any of the newest 3 babies are cockerels they will throw that same tail? I'll let them grow out but if it's gonna be white and squirrel tail I'll cull them also. If any are pullets I'm going to breed to Kong. Need to see his progeny. He has the narrow back end. I'll get pics of both King and Kong tomorrow and then if you will, we'll get all 6 of the hens tagged and photos. I'd love to hear the good and bad with everyone. Who I should keep and who I should cull? Pics of eggs, also. I need expert advise on how to move forward.
I know I need to bring in better stock that's a given.
I could hang on to Prince if you advise it but I'm guessing only to breed pullets, correct? Or will the white show up in his progeny pullets?
This is why I want to learn which bad and good traits he will throw to each gender.

That sounds great for you. Less work, not rebuilding again. Excited for your new venture and less time traveling is more time with chooks....

And us !! 🤣
