I think it would be interesting to see how it breeds but you should keep this separate from the breed standard birchen ones to keep white out of them. You might be able to develop your own line of mottled marans but they aren’t breed standard so not valuable as show birds.Do you think a real mottled project would be worth anything?
My friend your line has a proper Marans small to medium comb. Other breeders selected for a large 5 points comb . That is a problem. I have many strain in my farm most of them have a small proper Marans comb but few have this massive combs.It's wild how everyone else has such massive comb and wattles on their marans where I have medium sized through and through, some hens leaning to teeny sized single combs. Do other people who face cold extremes in winter find that their flock's comb size diminishes over time?
She's beautiful. Hard to believe there isn't a demand for them in your part of the world. I would try if it's not too much work.

this pullet both her parent are a carriers of one copy of mottling gene Mo+ , she inherited 2 copies one from each parent . It is a complete mottling pattern I don t think it s nutation .
