Thank you. If my marans are not up to breed standards I will likely try breeding them to my Easter egger and olive egger girls. Since there are no breed standards for EE or OE the only thing that makes any difference is egg color. Eggs don’t even have a standard color lot of people want variety.
I guess I’ll just keep doing what I’m doing for now and see how they look and behave as they grow. For now I have a very well behaved flock as a whole but everyone is still young. I have a total of 15 pullets and 3 cockerels all 6 months old or younger sharing a coop. Everyone seems to know there place in the flock. From what I understand this could change any time as the cockerels grow into full roosters.
