I'm going to get some more pics of the 3 here soon but my inexperienced thinking is Angel and Raven might be true sisters. Combs and body shape are almost identical.
Just thinking out loud here but all 3 combs are flopping over, but Ravens and Angels both flop the same way. Where Coppers is opposite.
Does that mean anything, I don't know but the more I look at them the 2 are almost identical in my eyes. If I can relate that to what Ravens egg color might be it's exciting to think.

Marking the eggs now takes all this guess work out of play, I'm understanding how important all this is, and especially the why?

This is a yearling cockbird, about 18 months now. He had some frostbite but also has a naturally smallish single comb, definitely a bonus in Montana. I've liked this guy a lot but I worry he's got a short back what do you say? My daughter took him to fair and the judge said he isn't goid body type?

I can see what your talking about but I have no comment on that.

Those are some good looking eggs. My freeloaders are 24 weeks old today still no eggs. Just a hint of color in the combs and wattles but they don’t look like they will start anytime in the near future.

My Marans are 24 weeks old. The cockerels did get some light frostbite a few weeks ago they look like they are healing but it’s a slow process. The pullets seem healthy to me still waiting on them to lay eggs.


Penny is the smallest. She has a lot of copper around her neck but it looks like it’s turning a little bit yellow as she grows not deep copper color

Betty is a big chunky girl but lacks any copper color at all

Axl has shorter legs than Sammy he is wide across the breast

Sammy grew tall and thin for a while but recently he has really started to bulk out and is becoming more wide.
