I don't have a BCM but I do have a Cuckoo Marans! Actually, she was supposed to be a BCM, but the hatchery must have gotten mixed up, because she definitely is not. I am not sad at all about getting her instead of a Black Copper, she is only 10wks old and already the sweetest girl in my flock!

The hens are staying, but all the boys are rehomed.
I’m sending a tray of Wellie, Marans and Olive Egger eggs to be hatched in the incubator with the guy who took in all our Roos.

I can’t remember if I said, but he’s taken Blue as a pet, he’ll get to run with his miniature pigs (who are smaller than him).

The Marans eggs I sent are all Chanel’s, probably sired by Loki but there were a few days with Napoleon so I’ll have to see if there’s any splashes to confirm if he is the sire.

I’ll get some pullets back from all these so I’ll have more of Chanel’s daughters to hopefully begin the GCM project when I get something sorted out in the future.

If I have to use a different copper rooster when this finally happens I will reuse the name Napoleon because I had my mind set on it, but hopefully he lives until I can take him back.

Some pictures of the young marans.
I think we have one DCM and one BCM cockerel, the rest being pullets.

The darkest one with less feathers through is Joannie. The single barred (hen) is Mole, the double barred (cockerel) is Wellington. The other two don’t have names, I might name the BCM boy King Louis, but then again I’ll have to sell him anyway.
