Intestines hanging out???

If nothing can be done -----what is the kindest way to cull????

snow bank? I have no idea what to do. I am NOT cutting off any heads.

There is a video/article floating around somewhere about culling chicks. Something about wrapping them in a paper towel and using kitchen shears. It would involve decapitation, but to me seems like the most humane way. It was also quite humane on the human. Not much blood or wiggling. Maybe try doing a forum search.

Please tell me this isn't possible.

I had some sticky chicks that hatched early and yolk sacs were hanging out. That was this morning.
I have double washed them and blow dried, very gently and they are looking exhausted.
Two seem to have intestines (light brown tube- like thing) hanging out of their bellies.
Is that a death sentence?
Will it get reabsorbed like the yolk????
I'm FAR from an expert, mind you, but I do know that the intestines aren't going to reabsorb. And you're not likely to be able to push them back in, either. Too much swelling, I suspect.

I'm sorry & I don't know why this has happened. I do agree that the little chicks aren't long for this world. If you cannot bring yourself to euthanize in any of the ways suggested, perhaps you can let the cold do it for you? Hold them outside maybe?

I know that sucks, is heartbreaking, panic inducing & prob everyone is going to jump in with better suggestions.

They don't seem like they're going to live long & maybe that's best at this stage, considering.

I'm so sorry dear.
