Hi, I want to adopt this blind amber-link, my flock is nine chickens, 5 ten week olds. (Rooster and 4 hens) and 3 7 week olds. (All hens) anything special I need to do? Here is my plan.
1. Set up a dog crate for her.
2. Get a chicken harness so she can be walked on grass, and what .not.
3. After 2 weeks, walk her by the chicken run, so she can hear them, and they can hear her.
4. Introduce them, with her in a puppy play pen, and them on the other side while free ranging.
Take one chicken out at a time to free range with her, over the course of a few days.
5. If all goes well, let her play supervised in the run with them.
6. If all goes well again, let her sleep in the coop.
She is 6 weeks older than them, I think that gives her a size advantage. Anything else I should know?

I think that sounds good. Just make sure to watch her if you let her around the others.

I would need a separate feeder/waterer, and I was wondering Wich water model i should consider. Like, nipple seems like it would be hard for her to find, and regular seems to hard to find, should I put a dish on the side for water?

I have never had a blind chicken, but for water I might just use a regular water dispenser, or a dish and show her were it is by putting her beak in it from time to time. This might help her figure it out, but you could also ask the owners you are adopting her from how they get her water.

Oh, for sure☺ I'm excited to meet her.

With her having a huge size advantage, have you considered taking one of the younger birds from your existing flock (after quarantine) and placing it with her (just the two of them) for a few weeks to encourage a bond between the two? This would give her a much better chance to integrate with the flock when that time comes, and she'll have a sighted buddy to assist her.
