Hello!

First time silkie owner here, what an excellent platform this is, I’ve found sooo many answers here!
I am very proud of my 3 little one week old chicks that I have had for 3 days now, a black and a yellow and a mixed colour who have settled in nicely. A different breeder contacted me saying she has a 2 week old ‘ lavender’ silkie I couldn’t resist saying that I would have that too. Is it a bad idea to bring one older chick into a confined box with 3 younger chicks? Any tips on how to do so?

When they are young like that there's usually no issues with introducing to each other. They're all still so young the pecking order isn't too rough right now. As long as there's plenty of food and water for them, it should be alright. I've mixed a 3 day old with week old before and no issues. Just keep an eye on them and interfere if needed.

New chick seems healthy and happy, all four are getting along well, sooo cute, could watch them all day...

*Just in this cage while I clean the brooder that has a heat source
