So i currently have a goose and duck I raised from hatching, they are inseparable. But I am getting them some “friends.” Originally I was planning on getting a few ducks but my friend got ahold of me and wants me to take her Famale goose and 1 female duck as well as one drake. And I have 5 ducklings (females) on the way already!

I have a gander and a female duck right now. Sense they were all raised among ducks and geese do you think they will all be okay roaming together? How should I introduce them to each other? Is it okay to have one female goose and a gander? I’m also nervous the geese (mostly jeffery my gander) will hurt the new ducks.

Incase you’re confused because i know i am, I’ll have 1 goose 1 gander, 7 female ducks and one drake.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome and I think I’ll let geese and duck owners comment here. :frow

I have two geese gander and goose and 12 ducks and 25 chickens now they have all lived together for a long time and all get along pretty well but if I was introducing new ducks into a resident flock they need to live close but separated by fencing. That is the best way to get them use to each other then eventually they will become one flock but you have a unique situation mine was similar I had Muscovy and traded 3 duck eggs for a goose egg and one of my Muscovy ducks hatched a gosling all went well until the gosling turned into a gander lol and him and my drake butted heads because the gander when he became sexually active wanted his mama duck as his mate ( crazy I know) but it got pretty crazy for 5 yrs finally I got a female goose for my gander but my gander wanted nothing to do with her I had to finally separate my gander and goose from the rest of the ducks and it still took about 3 months and breeding season before he fell in love and forgot all about his mama turned mate duck.
