Hi everyone!!!!! I am very excited to be here and have a wonderful community to be a part of. I was caught off guard by how much we love raising chickens. We got our first chickens in July and have added more to our flock. We really love them.

We have three adult hens. June a barred rock and the main lady!
then two red wyandottes. They are lovely and so interesting to watch. Then we added two duckling, who are huge and messy. Still watching them develop into a breed. We are guessing a pekin mix and the mallard. We have four chicks. 2 light brahma, 1 Sicilan buttercup, and one russian orloff. Keeping my fingers crossed that everyone is a pullet.

Also, I have posted in the emergencies forum. Because two of my chicks are not doing well. One of them is slightly paralyzed and the other, Rosie, who is my profile pic, has an injured leg, as you can see in the pic. Any help would be greatly appreciated. These are my first chicks and I am doing my best. Thank you so much. :)

Welcome to Backyard Chickens! We are glad you joined the flock!:frow BYC is a helpful site providing all the information you need to know about poultry! How old are your chicks? Once they hit 6-8 weeks you should post them here.

The BYC members can sex them for you! Hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do!

Hi! momo1234!
Welcome to BYC! :yesss: I love getting my research on my six hens through folks that are living the chicken dream!
It also taken me by surprise to be so in love with my girls! :love
They're all around 3 yes. Old and laying like champs. Harriet the main lady in my group is also a barred rock, very vocal! Dotty her sister is a quiet one. Two new hapshire red girls Scarlett and Rosa, and two buff orpington Charlotte and Clara. There's nothing I wouldn't do for them to insure they're happiness. So, yes! Welcome and have fun!!:jumpy:frow
