My bride and myself are owned by about thirty-five mixed breed chickens (only here in New Zealand we call them CHOOKS) We are all supervised by a squad of 14 Pekin - cross ducks. The ducks are very protective of the chooks as they were all incubated and raised by clucky (broody) hens. It is not unusual to see a frantic hen fretting alongside the ducks pond as she watches her maniac foster-kids pretending to be ducks!
We also share our five and a half acres with our resident philospher Annie, the Angora cross goat.
We all are superbly managed in the most discreet manner by an aged female cat (I have never had the impertinence to enquire as to her lineage, or actual age!) who calls herself Tusi-tala. Herself is absent at present as she has booked in to a local day-spa for urgent medical treatment of a very private and feminine nature.
It is only in her absence that I have had the temerity to divulge details of our paradise on earth here in "The Land Of The Long White Cloud" Aotearoa New Zealand. Kia Ora.
