Introducing the Ideal Dozen

Man those Langshans have some legs on them🤣I'm waiting for them to bust out the can can

It's crazy how tall and shinny the naked ones look. The one that feathered up promptly isn't as tall.

I don't know what the breed standard is.

En Croute, whose vent shows no lingering signs of the pasty butt that earn her this name.

Blue, who has gloriously shiny feathers, and *may* be slightly smaller than the others. Notice the all-black beak, unlike any of my other chicks.

The Langshans are the most skittish and resistant to handling.

The Marans (don't mind the wet feet -- I'd had to rinse out the dog carrier I caught them in).

I didn't see Blue's tiny wattles until DS#3, who was doing the photography, spotted them.

With some help from the gaming group, we have moved the brooder coop inside the wire to begin the integration process.

They were very unhappy about the pet carrier, but are already adapting to their new location.

I gave them their favorite treat -- wet chick crumble. :D
