If you are running electric out to your coop, I would put up an electric fence around your entire run. That will keep most ground predators out. Big cats can leap over it pretty easily but they can be baited to touch the fence and after one good hit to the snout with 10,000 volts, that's a pretty good deterrent to a second attempt.
