Introduction

Hello, Taegan, and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
I'm so sorry about the chick. If it were mine, I would euthanize. I don't believe it will have a quality life on those legs. And that is the the outward deformity you can see. You don't know what other defects it hatched with. I'm sorry. :hugs
If you go that route, here are two articles you can read:

Thank you for that. I have seen the ether process mentioned in some chicken groups I'm in on facebook. I could never "physically" hurt any animal (eg cut off its head etc) but I also don't want to leave it suffering.. 🥺 so that is definitely an option of it comes to that. Thank you for that information. 🙂

I've never personally killed an animal either. I've recently had to have a hen euthanized. I have a very dear neighbor that shoots my hopelessly suffering chickens for me. It's very messy but the bird is gone in an instant.
It's very difficult to make the decision that allowing a life to continue will only lead to suffering so the kindest choice is death. No matter how that end is offered, it should be swift and as painless as possible. Oftentimes, it is only painless for the recipient. :hugs
