Invisible fence

There's alot of hunting around here. One more gunshot woundn't even be noticed. The dog might not even be missed as he has several maingy mutts hanging around.

People place no value at all on your chickens. I mentioned at work about my chickens getting killed & one co-worker said that the game warden had stopped by his house this summer checking into a report of dogs killing chickens. He said he told him that his dogs never leave his property. The game warden then left.

Then he laughed & said that there were dead chickens & feathers all over his back yard.

He thought that was pretty funny.

It is legal for me to kill any dog on my property.

I haven't & I hate to but....

I think unless people have chickens they don’t know the personalities they have and how much fun they can be watching them. That man you work with needs some chickens.

We live in the county but my dog goes down in the woods to run every morning. If she were to come across chickens, or any animal she wouldn't do anything to them but if a person were down there she's eat them up. If they were on my property then there’s nothing they can do to her but as I’ve said before if she goes off our property then she’s fair game because she can be a, you know what they call female dogs. I know she would bit someone.

This dog looks jost like a coyote & it chases every car that goes down the road. They do not even attempt to stop it even if they are outside. I have quit slowing down or even trying to avoid the dog. It would be a shame to run over it right in front of them.

I guess it depends on how far away your neighbors are. In a neighborhood setting it's pretty hard for a nextdoor dog NOT to come into your unfenced yard, but if the neighbor really lives a mile away that's another story.

Have you talked to the neighbor about the dead chicken? Or complained to the animal control? I would do those things first, to cover your butt.

If you do have to shoot the dog though, it's Shoot.Shovel.SHUT UP -- that you don't talk about to either the neighbor or the animal control.

In my opinion, you should try to first scare your neighbor by giving the warning shot as PineappleMama mentioned. If this does not work than IMHO you have the right to buy a paintball gun and shoot that dog. Not that I am an overly sadistic person, but he had it coming and it is more about the owner than the dog but, shooting at him doesn't seem like a good idea, so I would go with the dog...

It is absolutely unacceptable for chickens to die these horrifying deaths due to the irresponsibility of humans. Can this person/these people be cited for 'dog at large', their dog killing your pets/livestock or any other of your local ordinances? If so, I would insist on these citations immediately. Plenty more to say but late for work! I am so sorry for your birds

Imvisible fence?

Nah! It only protects your stuff from the dogs that are wearing the collars. What about all the other stuff out there and the other dogs that won't be wearing the collar?

Sometimes a person has to do what needs to be done.
