Ran up to the Wisc. Int'l Poultry show today briefly, had to leave pretty quickly as Thomas was along and was pretty much determined to be as miserable as possible, so didn't get to see much other than the scope of the show. Pretty big, divided among multiple buildings, looks like there were some fun booths there, etc. Would have liked to have had a minutes to poke around, but ah well. 4 year olds.

Those are very nice photos, I keep saying, the Iowa Blue is in good hands and has a really bright future. I wish that more breeds had this kind of action taken on their behaft.

Stay your course!

My little flock is growing nicely, as Kari said the light ones are getting darker, one of the really dark Birchins on the other hand is showing a lot of white, more so then any of the others, she is really beautiful. I am hoping it is a she, she has more comb then the other pullets, but no wheres near what the two roosters I am sure about.

Time will tell.

Okay Kari, here's some pics of the DW start. looks like it might be a boy but not sure yet. His/er legs seem to be getting darker too. could not trust him to stand and pose so had to hold on to him but he seems somewhat calm. I think it has potential.

Well, my IB numbers are dwindling, I have a trio left, the best of the group, the others went to some folks south of me who arnt keeping pure breeds.

The ones I have left are two beautiful dark birchen pullets, and a birchen rooster who is developing a beautiful painted mantle. He is also by far the largest of the IBs of this hatch.

This trio is still of a size where they could be shipped.

Oh, he's cute! And well on his way to being spoiled too I think :) I have some that come sit on my feet so I'll give them treats. I know they are a flighty breed in general, but they really are personable once they get to know you!

Yes, s/he certainly likes treats and so do those little runt Brahmas. They are kinda like fat little buff colored toads!

note the green legs. as I wrote earlier, they are becoming darker.

Well I picked up my new cockerel today from Denny, very nice bird! I love his tail set, more at the 70 degrees than 80. I'll have to get some photos tomorrow of him.

Edit: he will be 2 months on the 20th, he is absolutely huge!

I had three new IB chicks hatch out this morning. I'll try to post pictures. In my grow out pen, I have a boy coming along that I really like so far. I'll try to get a picture of him soon as well.

Glad everyone had fun at the show and it looks like it was a great display.

Chicks are growing nicely, got to get out and rearrange to winter arrangements. Hopefully can get that finished this weekend.

Just a note, nominations for the 2014-2015 term are open on IBCC.
