These birds are still a bit young and their color should improve but I was excited enough to see the good purple that I wanted to go ahead and post pictures. I actually might have better birds that are younger but it’s hard to know until they mature. I only have a few this age (actually this pair and one more pullet) because a predator got in my pen while I was out of town and I lost power in my brooders so I lost almost all my birds ranging from a week old to a few months old except for a few in the pen and the older chicks in the unheated brooder (this was back at Thanksgiving). I’m still hoping that I get some cockerels that are solid black/purple with no silver or red.

I’m glad they are doing well for you. Those Ponape should turn out with some really good color. The Raraku show less but with crosses the color really pops.
