That could be the case. It will be interesting to see. I think maybe the darker birds may have mahogany and the brighter birds my have gold. The more visible the pattern might concentrate the iridescence in the black areas. I’m curious but I won’t devote the cage space to just finding out if I get really good solid purple birds to work with because I’ll just follow the purple and won’t know what’s hidden underneath.Now he's just about perfect. I wonder if the gold is effecting the iridescence. That would be interesting to experiment with!

Can I ask what your end goal is?Well...all the birds that I have now are part of my breeding program and I don’t want to sell any of those until I have my final breed completed. The goal is to have a breed that is uniform and breeds true and then I’ll start selling them.
