Irregardless of what you think....

YAY SOMEONE UNDERSTANDS!!!

I tend to think my english grammar and usage is good... but my wife is English and a news editor. Her usage is flawless so I have to speak on my tip-toes sometimes so I don't get scolded!

Greyfields, I clicked on this link, because I figured you knew better than to use the word "irregardless"

Thanks for th chuckle

The other one that really bothers me is "per se". But, I guess that comes from taking Latin. It doesn't mean what 90% of the people using it think it does.

If most folks replace irregardless with regardless, we'd be good to go. This one irks me as well.

"Irregardless of what you may think..."

to

"Regardless of what you may think..."

The latter is much better.

I also feel the same way about "anyways."

"Anyways, I went to the store..."

to

"Anyway, I went to the store..."

Little things that I don't usually belabor, but I do notice them. I'm not the Grammar and Spelling Police.

In my opinion, that is more of an issue within herself, than with the people posting here. We all have pet peeves and it has nothing to do with one individual on these boards.
