Is a heat source needed?

If she is older, the blue tint could be from heart issues. I don't think you can do anything but give her a great life. I had a big buff Orpington that was like that.
Thank you so much!! I will not add heat and as for my old lady bless her she passed. I think possibly the harsh summer then the cold so fast affected her deeply.I kept her very comfy though.Thank you so much

In the future I would stay away from Sex-links if you are getting them to be something more than disposable egg machines. I have a feeling your girl had some repro issues and succumbed to them. Very common with her breed.

My other isa her sister seems very healthy she is always out and about running with my rooster .Shes always fussing at my pullets she hasnt laid as well now in 4 weeks.Shes vibrant active and always on the go.
 
I'm pretty sure it depends how hot it is. Mine isn't super hot.
It isn't strictly a question of "how hot". It could be too close to something flammable. It could be it isn't properly secured, can fall or get knocked, land in something flammable. Roast chicken, pile of ashes that used to be a coop. If lucky it isn't close to another building and take that down.
