I breed Spaldings and I like Spaldings. They make the different colors and patterns more vibrant. In bronze , all of the pieds the blackshoulder patterns and the Brown colors ( cameo, peach and purple ) I sell these as Spaldings because a lot of people like the color improvements. I keep records of breedings on most of what I want to do with
Spaldings . I have a 7/8 peach hen that is going to be a nice looking bird with a lotal different color than a peach hen.. she is still a peach hen due to her genitics. I think that no bird is a mutt as they can carry the genes of different colors and or patterns. Some of the best breeder peafowl will be birds with multiple colors and patterns in their gene pool. I understand if a person does not like or want them but most people do, and if you want too, the Spalding phenotype can be bred out of the birds. Just my way of thinking on this ... connerhills farm
