Hello there! I am supposed to be meeting the boys this evening to pick up a dozen polish. They have some gorgeous birds! So far as the Conover guy, he is a really likeable and friendly guy, but yeah...I don't know what he's doing wrong, but there is something wrong. If the eggs aren't porous, the majority die at various stages of development. With the shipped eggs, don't lose hope! You never know...and you should definitely candle them before incubation because with our temps lately, if they've been sitting idle at a post office, they may have started developing...

I bought 5 boxes of eggs, 44 Silkies, 26 Showgirls, 14 cochines, I still have one more box of 24 silkies coming to me. My husband said i have gone over board, I say 'WHERE THE AUCTION LINK" HA HA HA Never can have enough eggs. lol....

I just got back home with my polish eggs: I was supposed to have 12 crested polish eggs, but when I got there the "boy" who sold them to me let me know that they only ended up with 10, not 12 so he gave me 4 frizzled silkie/polish crossed eggs too. Bringing the total egg count to 14. I'm okay with that, just hope the 10 polish hatch. Those are really the ones I want! Wish me luck!

A week ago I had 4 bantam Salmon Faverolle, 6 Lavender Ameraucanas & 9 Large Fowl Salmon Faverolles hatch. This was my 4th go round this season of hatching eggs. My first two batches March & April were shipped eggs from S Calif and Idaho. Both did great. One box was mis-delivered by the Post Office and a day late but still hatched well. The last batch are streaming online. I am sort of hooked on the hatching and now the web cam of either the peeps or the incubator depending on whats better

I can check on them while at work.

I appear to have a new chicken stalker problem and lost a number of my young hens that were venturing outside of the fenced yard. This morning I saw the predator ... a coyote standing big as you please looking towards the barn. I was in the family room checking my peeps at 8:30 this morning....

With the hatch of the 19 peeps I figured I was done for the year so I scrubbed up the incubator. Took apart the top and vacuumed the top of all that fluff stuff. It was looking almost brand new. Then that crazy 24 hr auction by my friend with the Fav's ... Of course when I had the chance to pickup some more LF Salmon Faverolle egss I jumped at it and set them on Thursday night (9). They should hatch on the 18th. I am also raising up 6 Buckeye peeps from the feed store and it now looks like at least one of those is a rooster.

Here's the best of the California shipped eggs, what a looker! Lemon Blue Splash hen
