Is anyone else having problems with Purina crumble?

can you try a pellet food rather than crumble?

I was buying the Purina Layena as well, lots of dust and crumbles throughout the bag and I was buying the pellets too. The last 2 bags of food I purchased were Nutrena Naturewise. I'm at the bottom of the bag and the pellets are still whole! Its a couple bucks more than the Purina.

I bought Dumor 20% Starter/Grower yesterday.
Nice and crumbly!
I noticed that the email that I got from Purina came from landolakes.com
I won't be buying Purina again.

I still have the powder. I will probably compost it in the spring.

No no no!. Mix it with water into a slurry a small batch at a time and your chickens will love you. I had the same problem with a Dumor crumble that is basically powder, so I turned it into wet mush. And everyone loves it.

I get the same stuff and it's basically powder.

I fed Dumor for years. The crumble was always fine. Went to the Purina Premium Flock Raiser a little over a year ago. I'm sticking with Dumor.

I always make a mash out of their leftover feed at the end of the day. I'll have to feed them a little less and do as you suggest.

it also depends on your supplier, i use largo feed and have no troubles with crumbles, but they are careful to carry it to the car and place it in....went to Central Feed and they basically tossed it onto their shoulder, and threw it into the car, needless to say, was much more powdery than Largo Feed :-/
