Is BYC Experiencing Cabin Fever?

Pics
I don't know about the rest of BYC but I certainly have cabin fever right now! I'm irritable, have lost all my patience and am slowly going insane... although to be fair I'm also 6 months pregnant, putting up with crappy cold weather and I had to move into town and give up my chickens, yard, garden and privacy. Also got fired from my job of 9 years because I had to leave sick just ONE day because my morning sickness was so bad. Can't seem to find a lawyer to take my case on that one. That's how larger companies get away with stuff like that though.

Needless to say I'm really hoping to find a new place out of town with some real space after little Vivvi gets here in May. Also still on the hunt for a job. Been 4 months but nobody wants to hire a pregnant woman around here. *Sigh* Sorry. Kinda got off topic but the rant made me feel a little better.

It's good to let it out. You are definitely in A rough patch. :hugs
A smax for your ex employer. :smackI hope someone shows them the same kindness. :rant

Sounds to me like you have good reasons for a serious case of cabin fever. So sorry about the job and having to give up your flock. It can be tough coping with all those changes plus being pregnant. I hope things get better asap! :hugs

P.S. Vivvi, what a pretty name!

I don't think mine is necessarily cabin fever. More of situational stresses. It seems my peak times of aggravation are usually caused by interactions with certain people. The more aggravated I get the more I tend to see things that get me even more riled. None of it's new stuff. Same old world spinning in the same old way.

So what I do to get my mind off things? Super super geeky. I read old case studies and studies on cultural practices throughout the years. Drier than my old debate coach's sense of humor :gig I also help scan photos for people that have loved ones suffering from dementia and Alzheimer's related memory loss. That started after working with a sewing group that made fidget quilts.

I meant to post this sooooo much earlier...

This is one of the sweetest pictures ever! Has she hatched any more yet?

Very interesting. I mean, I can see how some of this info could upset the type of person who believes "everything they teach in school must be the truth." Same could apply when "new fangled" chicken care advice is given. Also reveals something about different levels of knowledge... there's the well-known accepted facts... then the advanced version.

Sorry you lost yours Flappy, you had that one boy a long, long time. I have 3 indoor cats and apparently a 4th one that's adopted us is living in the garage. These are my 3:

Thanks. I lost Sassy after only a few short years, but Jack stuck around for quite a while, he was the best cat. He tolerated moving homes with me about 10 times and always followed on walks with the dog through the entire neighborhood. He was also buds with my horses when I had them.
Your cats are beautiful by the way. Here were mine:

Hi, no I dont' think I have so you here go! This is the northern end where we live - when we are done we'll have 5 bedrooms and one big long living space:

This is the middle section (and oldest - according to research this bit could be from as early as in the 1600s or as late as 1700's with the stone steps and stone sink inside) - this is where we are doing the first holiday rental (yes to rent out for tourists):

This is the 'big barn' at the other end - we want to eventually renovate this too into another rental - should be able to get 4 beds - it is pretty huge (hard to tell by the pics - I come up to not much over the horizontal bit of wood on the door to try to give scale):

Some of the scale of renovations - this is the 'door' we have knocked through between the kitchen and bathroom in the holiday rental - the wall is 60cm (about 2ft) thick!

Oh @PouleChick your barn house is amazing! Reminds me of watching House Hunters International. Good luck with your renovations :D

Tombstone is good for a newer one.
Tombstone was a good newer one. Now it's a great classic! Hard to believe 2½ decades have passed already!

I wonder if this "cabin fever" could be related to the political climate. I know we're not supposed to talk about it here, but what I'm seeing on the news is shameful... and I'm not pointing fingers, just an observer. It's all really quite embarrassing and maybe folks are just taking their frustrations out unintentionally. Even if someone doesn't give two hoots about politics, just being around someone else who does can be quite stressful. I actually quit watching the news for a month... we banned it in our household and I don't think we were happier in years.

UK isn't much better at the moment. Still, no excuse for ratty behavior. That why I love my birds. It takes my mind of the rubbish.

I'm sorry. Sounds like you have been dealt a crap shoot. I hope it all goes well with the baby. Companies should be held more accountable for this.
