He looks like he's feeling better. He's just been resting a lot today. I stayed up last night waiting for the raccoon to come but he was a no show. Im going to try again tonight.

Use a larger live trap, and try marshmallows as bait. Anything may work as bait, as long as it's secured so he can't get it out without being caught. Then shoot!

Set out the trap and just barely checked it and to my surprise it was a possum not a raccoon. Do you think that he could be the culprit behind the missing eggs and hurt drake?

Yes, and maybe you have raccoons too. Shoot him and reset that trap. And have your birds in a safe place!

a larger trap and anything stinky you can tie down is usually the best for a coon, or tie a marshmellow tied down with oil from tuna fish or sardines, best way to get the jerks

No way of knowing for sure opossums are opportunistic too but never heard of one trying to pull a duck through fencing. That is usually a coon.

I too wanted to comment on cbd oil. As cannabis becomes legal in more states the strength of the cbd oil is becoming stronger. Make sure you check the mg strength before giving it to your pets. I’ve seen 900mg strength and that’s much too strong for animals esp birds. Dogs on average can take 10-20mg per dosing so higher levels are not necessarily better and can have the opposite effect and harm them. My sons old dog gets cbd for bilateral hip dysplasia and other problems he has and weighs 55lbs. He doesn’t get more than 20mg ever.
