Is emu ok?

Hello my emu hatched 24 hours ago and was drinking water only like 2 sips and it won’t eat it’s food I’ve tried diced carrots, cucumbers, and lettuce plus non medicated chicken feed. I’m pretty sure that’s normal since it just hatched but it’s been acting weird where it faints every 5-20 seconds. I’m not sure if it’s normal I’ll follow up tommorow.

When you say faint, what exactly do you mean? Just randomly falls over, or stops to sleep a lot?

They are really wobbly and unsteady on their feet for the first couple days. They also often don't eat or drink for three or four days after hatching. And, they are pretty tired from hatching, so they stop and sleep a lot. If that's the type of thing you're seeing, it's totally normal

It was just really sleepy it was laying down and shutting it’s eyes
