Is it a bad sign for an internal layer/ egg yolk peritonitis?

Update: 12/2 afternoon - 12/3 morning:

12/2 at 1:00 pm.

At 7:00 pm.

She ate little and pooped little too.

At 9:00 pm..

12/3 5:00am. She ate 2 table spoons of mashed sweet potatoes..

At 7:00 am.. I gave her a Tum tablet ( 750mg calcium) She avoids to eat oyster shells, either egg shell powder.. I wonder why..
Does it taste chalky to her? hmmm...
She loves to eat oats and mashed sweet potatoes and hard boiled egg yolk, and scrambled eggs. She picks some regular food, but not eating.

Oh, my Silly me! I bought a wrong one instead of Valbazen. LOL

That is a 50ml Valbazen GUN!! LOL

I reordered 500ml Valbazen at ValleyVet.com..

Well, she is laying down now.

I start my morning with coffee and BYC every morning......

The first thing I check is this thread. The picture of your hen 'exploring' your house is just priceless. Hang in there, we are all rooting for Deckie.

I am not sure I have the fortitude for the battle you are fighting.

Thank you for checking, enola! :)

I don't want to give up.. She wants to live, and she deserves it.

June, 2012 She was attacked by a fox.. but she is the one who survived.

When my bird was sick, i gave her own food. I also feed her boiled egg yolk and some garlic.
I tried to keep it simple. Probiotics is fine. The meds unfortunately kills off the good and the bad bacteria. Potatoes are not good for the birds either. I know your trying hard.

Can you get pancur or safeguard at your local feed store?

<< I tried to keep it simple.

That is the right thing to do. I may think too much.

Do you know potatoes are not good for the birds by the way?

She doesn't eat her own food because I feed her something else, I wonder ?? She pecks some of them but not eating.. like playing.

Yes, I can get the safeguard at Tractor supply store near by. Although I ordered Valbezan so I will give them as soon as I get it, which will be on 6th. Dec.

My husband also said to me,

"you are doing too much."

keep it simple as you said. :p

Potatoes apparently is poisonous to chickens. Now saying that, i have given peelings to mine with nothing happening, however, after learning that, i don't anymore.

I am wondering why she lays down for hours and hours everyday?  Does she produce an egg everyday?  Then my husband sent me this above.

So she is 3 years old..Actually she WILL be 3 years old in March.

She used to lay an egg everyday before she got sick.   Does she have per-menopause?

I would say her illness is taking a tole on her body is why she is laying down longer. She wouldn't produce an egg everyday at three years old. Her prime is the first two years of their life and they slow down. If she has internal layer, you wouldn't see all her eggs as they stay in her and cause problems. This unfortunately will kill her.
