Is it a Silver Laced Wyandotte Pullet or Rooster?

I found a picture of some of my SLWs when they were younger that shows the difference in the lacing on the pullet's back compared to the cockeral's back. I don't know if your bird is from a hatchery or a breeder...that can make a difference in the lacing too.

Katy, you told me to hang in there with my glw a couple of months ago when I was freaking out over her big legs. She turned out to be a girl (no eggs yet at 18.5 weeks, but maybe soon). she had almost no lacing (the gold part - not sure if the lacing is the gold or the black) until she began getting her big girl feathers. Now she is looking pretty good for a hatchery chick.

Thank you all so much for your wonderful words of wisdom and photos. I've loved looking at all of these and they are a fantastic resource! I'll keep you updated on any progress! Just thought you might like to see my hen house in our backyard. It was delivered two weeks ago. Then I paved around it. I grow veges and old roses too. My special needs little girl is there too with her dolly enjoying the 'chookens' so I smudged her face to protect her privacy. (And one of my boys can just be seen climbing up the tree behind her!!)

PS. Candy, Floss & Popcorn are the names of our three brown shavers from a hatchery. The others were chicks from a breeder. See how little the wyandotte is in comparison but I think it is a week younger. I got the rest as week olds and I suspect she was just a day old.

He looks like a cockerel to me, but I'm notoriously bad at guessing from pictures. You'll have to send me a plane ticket so I can see in person.

I had another thread on MY SLW - she started getting a pink comb and wattles at three days! I was positive it was a boy. Now she's 18 weeks and is definitely a girl. So wyandottes can be tricky!

UPDATE:- It's two weeks on and hubby has just taken some more photos tonight of our little Wyandotte. What do you think now? 'She' was from a breeder but I don't know if she is pure bred. I think 'she' is 8.5 weeks old now. I really want it to be a pullet cos I can't keep a boy.
