I tried feeding just scratch to my birds in a tractor. You could tell they liked it more an they did ok. When I went back to pellets they seem to do better. They also eat less. And because pellets cost less than scratch or corn here I save two ways. So now I feed only pellets to any bird that ant free ranged every day an sence its cheaper I feed it to the free range birds to.
