your welcome.

She hasn't laid since she was 2years old and took on the 'Rooster' role of keeping the others in line.there was no indication of anything wrong...no soft/shelless eggs no signs of illness...she just stopped laying.
No swollen abdomen but her poop has been green when she wasn't eating however Her appetite has improved tenfold over the past couple of days.
Xrays fees in UK are incredibly high and not usual practice for poultry as most vets in my area have little to no knowledge of poultry.
She is very fond of fish/meat which I mix with softened pellets and battles rooster booster powder for extra vitamins. She also has Johnson poultry tonic in her water and has a fondness for crushed ice.

It sounds like you are taking very good care of her - mmmm...crushed ice and fish=happy chicken!

Vet fees in the US are very high as well. Some people will take there chicken to a vet for treatment, but a lot of times it is not an option - either dollar wise or the vet won't do chickens, so we are left to try to treat and give supportive care the best we can.

Green poo can sometimes be an indication of not eating, but hopefully with her appetite coming back she will hang in there a while longer.
Again, I'm so sorry she is not doing well.

Today our hearts broke as we said our last goodbye to Lady Agatha. She passed earlier today.Although a month ago she had seemed to perk up (appetite, eagerness to forage etc) her balance and physical strength couldn't cope anymore.
Thank you to you all for the support.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts.Agatha was my oldest feathery friend (nearly 5yrs) . She was the Matriarch of my little flock since although she didn't lay an egg since she was 1 &1/2 (she just stopped!) She kept all the others in line. She has never had any sign of illness until last month after routine worming so I'm still uncertain of what caused this. I've read that a purple comb can be a sign of heart problems. She was a huge bird so could that why? I guess I'll never really know as there isn't anyone in my area that could perform a necropsy on her.
I've only three girls left now.

It could have been heart problems. She has some age on her and things start to break down.

She sounds like she was a sweet girl and I know she had a loving home.
