Is it just me? Is this the end of the forum I used to enjoy so much?

This forum is my little slice of country. I knew I was a goner when I first happened on it. Here there are people much like me and I can talk chicken without getting a vacant stare. Through the time I've been here, some of the members have become very familiar to me. A lot of them are like friends that I enjoy conversing with. I love that this forum allows something outside of just chicken talk. Everything has it's place.

I had raised chickens for 16 years before I found BYC. But I can't measure how much I have learned about chickens (and people) since I got here.

awww with out the PeaFowl section I would have been totally lost on what to do with the Pea eggs I was talked into buying.
I had no clue about the delicate nature of a hatching. I think I read just about every thing in that forum.
as I did with ducks and turkeys. I even m'd Miss Prissy with questions and advice with turkeys and geese( esp Sebbies)
this is my first year with an incubator, I always let hens either go broody or just pulled eggs, I never knew the joy of hatching untill I joined this forum.

I do believe with out Random Rambling I would be further out of my mind than I already am.
I can come in this section on any given day and find something to laugh about.

Okay, I did not read all the posts so I don't know what others have said, but I want to say this: Many of us feel like we 'know' the people here on byc ... and may even call them our friends. Friends generally care about each other's lives - including families, political views, and (yes) even gout. The forum is purposely divided into categories so you don't have to read what you don't want to. If you don't like drama then don't seek it out by opening those posts.

Everyone had their own opinions, and you just shared yours.
But the majority of this site is chicken and other poultry related.
They added the section : Random Ramblings, because that is exactly what it is, Random ramblings, with nothing related to chickens. If you don't like the threads, don't go to them. Easy as that.

I like voicing my opinion as much as the next guy does, but there are about 35,000 members on this site, you will never see the day again where this forum is 100% chicken.

LOL, I haven't ever just gone to random ramblings, the OP's title for this thread got me interested in this particular posting. Reading everyones defense of Random Ramblings got me interested! Think I'll just go take a browse and see what its like....Thanks Ellie, got me to branch out a little here!
