Is it legal to raise egg laying hen in residential areas of Oahu?

I'm in upper Pearl City and have been raising 6, Rhode Island Reds for over a year. I live along the gulch, so no neighbors in the back. Since I share my eggs, folks have been telling me that it now ok to raise up to 7 hens/chickens. Anyone know the facts on the law and also, which zoning it applies to?

Today's also my first day on BYC and I'm thrilled. I want to encourage more people to be sustainable and raise their own protein.
